Why does aaw flag host file entries pointing to 12.0.0.1 as possible vulnerabilities when it's in fact a protection against malware actions coded by the user of the computer?

I'm willing to assume you mean 127.0.0.1 rather than 12.0.0.1, but without knowing the entries that are flagged I can't make any other judgment. It's possible that malware could have blocked security sites.
