Is there any particular reason why Lavasoft chose to discard all of the previous forum data? For example, why make us re-register instead of simply incorporating the previous forum data into this new forum?

Dallen. This was dicussed at length, and it was agreed that the new forum would be built from scratch so that we could use a completely new structure, and organize things better than they were before. Mapping the old data onto the new structure would have been quite complex and very time consuming requiring alot of manual work....

We will, however, be adding information from the old forums, and from other sources as it is required.

Dallen, this gives you an opportunity for a fresh start and a lower Member Number.

(P.S. I hope this doesn't mean you're going to desert us at the other forums. sad.gif )

Thanks, Chris. It is indeed a very special honor to have been awarded. Microsoft is most appreciative of the help provided in the community.

I'd keep my eye on Die Hard as well. He has been making major contributions both behind the scenes as well as helping the users.

As Groucho Marx observed, I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member. Besides, Microsoft only recognizes the best with their "MVP" designation ... unless, of course, they hire them (as they did with ahulett) smile.gif

While such recognitions are definitely in order and well deserved let's never forget the efforts of many other specialist who though carry for display no such type of accreditation but are most formidable and very worthy courtesy their devoted interest and generosity in solving serious issues for years on behalf of the microsoft industry.

Hey, I worked hard at forming my contoversial reputation...are you telling me it was all for naught? mad.gif

I'll take the lower member number, although I really don't get into those kinds of things.

Regarding my deserting you at the other forums, if you haven't noticed I move around a lot. It's harder to hit a moving target. That's why I get in...make a lot of noise...then get the f$#k outta dodge.

Incidently, you do not need the MVP sticker. Some of us know you're special without it.wink.gif

Now that IS nice, thank you. I think I'll keep it though as it is like the Academy Award | Pulitizer Prize to those who provide computer help in the community.

How is it both winchester73 and SpyDie have ths same avatar? Am I seeing double? Also, if my memory serves me correctly did that avatar not once belong to someone else that used to frequent the old Lavasoft forum? Someone famous?

Regarding Wayne,

I'm not one to speak negatively about someone behind their back or say something about someone that I would not say to their face.
Let me just say this. He is a $%&*ing idiot. There is nothing that I hate more than a two-faced liar that deliberatley sets out to scam people out of money. He's no different than a pocket picker. Not only did he steal from his own customers, but he rode the back of Jason and took advantage of him as well. Now that Jason is on his own with Ghost Security, we see who is developing and who is trying to play catch up. When you sit around and let others do the work while you take all the credit, that works for the short-term, but when the real worker wises up and leaves, the truth comes out and you are left looking pretty stupid.

Wayne is like a wishing well...sits there and invites you to throw money to him, but in the end does nothing. At least a wishing well does not violate laws (both U.S. and Austrailian) and the well gives you something in return, albeit something small...the hope that your wish will come true. DCS no longer even gives their customers hope. How's that mystery software coming that was supposed to incorporate TDS-4 technology and revolutionize the computer security industry? I would give Wayne thousands of dollars just for a glimpse at eveything he has. I would then turn around an place wagers with anyone that wanted to bet against my theory that Wayne has absoloutely nothing in the works of anything substantive. In the end, I would profit because there are still enough people that put their faith in him that would be willing to take me up on my bet. Not only would I profit, but I would expose Wayne for the fraud that he is.

That being said, at least I don't hold a grudge and there are no hard feelings.
