Ive been having the same issue as many other people that ive talked to, Contravirus has gotten onto my computer about a 2 weeks ago and I have tried everything from downloading programs to stop it and manually doing it but nothing has worked. I uninstall it and 20 minutes later it comes back. Someone for gods sake help me get rid of this crappy program.

Shrumpy, Good catch....I had the same problem, followed your recommendation and it worked. Some things to add: I recommend that you delete the xpuupdate icon from the desktop; redo search using the word "contravirus"-you should get 8-9 hits. Go into each folder and delete the files. Under C:\Program Files\Contravirus there were 4 files/processes still running; they were ContraVirusPro, msvcr71, msvcp71, cvantispam. So I pulled them onto the desktop, did ctrl+alt+del followed the same process to "end program". Then go back and delete them and empty the recycling bin. I just feel more comfortable with the files deleted.

Hi guys,
The latest Ad-Aware updates should handle this one:
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=9760ContraVirus was included in the June 11th update.
Did either of you run the Ad-Aware 2007 or SE with the very latest updates?
