let's see.... i'm not by any means an expert on as-aware, but maybe i can help (i can try!). i'll need more details though. for instance:

has this problem coincided with the instalation of a new program? a specific update?
do you get any error messages?
what exactly happens when you try to open ad-aware? does it try to open but fail? does it not even try? does it open but not run? do you have software like spysweeper or spybot for spyware detection? what have you tried to do to solve this problem?

alright, lets see, ive reinstalled it, ive tried opening other ways, it does try, but I get "Ad-Aware.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and ive restarted, defragged...cant really think of too much else...

let's see... you re-installed it and you're still having the same problem, which means the problem probably isn't with the file itself. however, here's something you could try, just to make sure. uninstall, and then search for and delete any traces left of the program in your system. just type adaware in the search window, or even lavasoft (but don't search for lavasoft if you're running other lavasoft programs besides adaware). windows is supposed to do that when you uninstall, but it sometimes doesn't do a very good job. if you can, it would work best to run this search from safe mode. once you've cleaned out all traces of adaware, download the new installer. this should make for a perfectly clean instalation. if you're still having problems with adaware after that, you probably have a conflict, or a virus of some kind.
if you think you may have a virus, the easiest thing to do is go to Housecall. This website will scan your computer for all kinds of bugs. in this case, this is better than running your own security because if your computer has a virus, your own security can be affected and not work right. Here's the link: http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/
if you come up cleam, then you probably have a software conflict. we'll go into that if we have to, but try those two things first and let me know what happens. good luck to you!
