Yesterday I reinstalled Windows on my F: drive, after some browser hijacking issues, and downloading a possible Keylogger.

I reinstalled Comodo Firewall, AVG Anti-Spyware, BellSouth Popup Blocker, and began running Ad-Aware from my C: drive as before. All these programs were running simultaneously prior to the XP ProSP2 reinstall.

Since last night, Ad-Watch has logged over 100,000 statistics saying registry modifications. The taskbar icon is flashing red constantly, and a few popups have gotten through, as well as a browser hijack attempt. Is this normal, as the registry has changed? And how do I get the icon to stop flashing, and get on with working?

Since you have AVG Anti-Spyware installed, this may be relevant. I remember reading some topic in Wilders Security forums about ewido/AVG constantly accessing registry. Note that ewido 3.5/4.0 mentioned in the links below are just previous versions of AVG AS.

Please read this, it might offer some information relevant to your issue.
