Two days in a row I scanned with AdawareSE and Starware was very prevalent. I told the program to clean it, and it looked like it did. But when I immediately did a search for Starware, there it was.

Do I need to buy another product to actually prevent the reintroduction of Starware as well as really really get rid if it.

Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition does not protect you from getting infected in the first place. To have real-time protection you must upgrade to one of the paid versions.

To help you with your problem, do a full system scan with Ad-Aware SE, using the latest definition file, and post the log file here for us to look at.

When I was on the web site I saw directions on how to post to the log file, but I did not keep a copy. I have just done a scan, but have tried, unseccessfully, to search how to post to the log file.

Meanwhile, does all the software sold require an annual subscription renewal?

Now I can't find a button that says "send" or anything close to that.

To post a log file, you can just right-click on the log you get at the end of the scan, and click on Select All. Then click on Copy. Then you can start a reply here, right-click and choose Paste.

Regarding an annual subscription, the answer can be found in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

All updates/upgrades (regardless of build or version) are free of charge for the year following your purchase. On each anniversary of your initial purchase, you will be required to pay the yearly Maintenance and support fee to continue receiving the same updates/upgrades that following year. The yearly Maintenance and support fee is based on 35% of the full retail price.

I hope this helps.

Thank you very much. Now if I can only find whatever takes the place of the "send" button, you will get this reply.

Try again. You just quoted my post - you either didn't enter a message, or it didn't get through.
