there used to be a place to sighn up for emails about updates and news have you done away with that option? if not can some one point it out for this man who is looking all over

The place that you are looking for is: Mailing Lists
You may be able to sign up succesfully, however there have been some problems with the email lists for a while - like quite a number of others, I have not received the Definition Update emails for several months (something that the website engineers are looking into
) but I do still receive the Lavasoft News emails.
Should you experience difficulties with the official email lists, then the suggested work-around is to subscribe to the relevant sub-sections of the forum. Navigate to the Lavasoft News or Definition Updates sections and click on "Forum Options" in the title bar, then select "Subscribe to this forum":

On the next page, select the email notification method that best suits you.

NB: You will also receive emails for Beta Definition releases (ie: Se1b167 Has Been Released Today For Beta Testing) - unless you are a registered Beta Definition Tester, you should ignore these.
