What about download.com and other sites where poor/unsuspecting people get the old copy that fails the
update function at 5%? Has this been covered? If not, it could be costing you current and future business (reads MONEY).

I gave up back in March on "error retieving update" fiasco but thought I would give it anothet try to no avail. What am I missing here folks?

You are missing the info in all the other Topics. Please look at those. This topic is to try to get Lavasoft to say if
they are working at getting all the other places the Personal (free) version can be downloaded corrected like the one
they put at this location that fixes the update problem after uninstall,restart, save the one below such as to desktop,
then install...
