I am having the error retrieving update problem that everyone is having but I have SE Professional. I paid good money for this and in all fairness it has worked fine until now. I tried deleting the def ref files and manually copying the new one... no help. I see the patched version but it is the SE Personal edition. I want the patched version for my SE Professional edition. Is there another alternative?

Please log in to the Lavasoft Support Center for licensed purchasers (Ad-Aware SE 1.06 Plus/Pro) - you will need to enter your email address and the password that you chose during the purchase process (there is a "forgotten password" link ).

Once logged-in, please check the status of your license, as this would need to be up-to-date. You will need it to be current anyway, in order to download the upcoming Ad-Aware 2007 (currently in public Beta Testing) when it is finally released.

If you still have problems after downloading the patched version, then do as advised on the log-in page, "To Ad-Aware SE users with ISP/Error Retrieving Update issues: All Ad-Aware SE Plus and Professional users are asked to please log into the Support Center and fill out a technical support form. You will then be sent details on how to fix the problem."
