Hi,

The most recent update to Ad-Aware free has left the program unable to run in Windows Vista

The program will start but then always goes to Not Responding" It will appears to run in Safe Mode though.

I'd like to use AdAware Plus but AFAIK this is even more incompatible with Vista. What a waste of money buying AdAware Plus turned out to be.

Lifetime updates, in my dreams.

When are Lavasoft going to release a version of Adaware Plus that runs in Vista.

At the moment I seem to have little alternative but to use other spyware and malware removal programs.

Ad-Aware Plus with its lifetime updates is now basically useless.

I've e-mailed lavasoft support asking when there will be a compatible version, no response has been received.

Hi,

I'm aware of the BETA Adaware 2007.

What however happens to those of use that purchased enhanced and upgraded versions of Ad-Aware such as Ad-Aware Plus but now cannot use it.

I've had upgrades to newer versions since I purchased Ad-Aware Plus.

Do I get a free upgrade to the new version.

The program was marketed with free Lifetime support and Upgrades.

Now I'm left with a product that seems basically useless and cannot be upgraded.

Yes, but it isn't finished yet, it needs to be tested and have the bugs worked out of it before it is ready for the general public.

Hi ceri sheeran,

I upgraded from Ad-Aware 5.6 Personal to Ad-Aware 5.6 Plus in October 2001 (and yes, there were no annual license fees back then and my purchase douments stated that there were free upgrades for life).

When I logged into the Lavasoft Support Center mid-last year, it stated that my License had expired. It took several emails to the Support Staff to get it fixed - fortunately I always print-out every page of my on-line purchases, including the FAQ for free lifetime upgrades, so they didn't have any way to deny it - and also could not explain how else I had received emailed download links to each upgrade as they were released smile.gif

Log into the Support Center, using your email address and password created during the purchase process (there are "lost password" and "change of email" links on the log-in page) and check your License Info - if it is current, there will be an active link under Product Downloads.

It is only in the past couple of years or so, that Lavasoft switched business models from "Free for life" to "Annual subscription" - if you have hard-copy proof that your purchase falls into the former, contact Support and insist on your License being amended, as I did.

Hope that this helps,

Regards,

Spike
