Full Version: Upgrade To Se Plus Or Se Professional?

I'm looking at upgrading from the free personal edition to SE Plus or SE Professional to deal with adware problems. SE Professional may be able to automatically remove some programs (I'm dealing with trojan.adclicker, outerinfo and Deluxe something). Would like opinions and input on which version to upgrade to.

Use is for a home computer; I'm not really a professional and this is first time I have dealt with this type of problem. I generally do OK with computer stuff though.

Hi Bill,

An upgrade won't increase removal capability on an already infected computer. The free and paid versions of Ad-Aware have the same removal ability.

The Ad-Aware Plus and Pro versions advantage is the realtime protection feature to avoid infections in the first place.

It sounds like you have encountered a virus or trojan that has downloaded some assorted malware to your computer which may take a combined effort of Antivirus tools and other specialized removal steps in addition to the Ad-Aware program you have been using.

Let's get your computer cleaned up first and then you can decide if you want to upgrade to Ad-Aware Plus or Pro because it might not even download or install right on an infected PC

I like to start with a look at these logs please:

1. Your Adaware Scan log
As Logs are stored in :
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-aware\Logs\.
An easy way to get there is to
click Start,
click Run
And type in and press ENTER: %appdata%
then click Lavasoft
then Ad-Aware
and then Logs.
scroll down to find the latest one that you have
(by date & time)
and open it right Click select all
copy and then paste the contents of it here.
...............
2. A diagnostic log from this free tool called HijackThis
