I always try to update and it always says "error retrieving update". for some reason it always gets to like 5%, and then the error comes up.

I'm having the same issue. I followed the link above and installed it, received the same error, then uninstalled the program completely and reinstalled it again a second time. I'm still getting the "Error retrieving update", and it stops after 5%.
For reference:
Installed definitions file - SE1R148 29.01.2007
Installed core application - 1.06r1 Personal

I haven't altered the default proxy setting shown in the configure menu and I'm not sure if doing so would help?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I uninstalled and re-installed this new version and continue to get"error retrieving updates" This is a relatively new issue(one month) after four years of excellent service. Thanks ,Joe
