Ad-watch started up today, telling me something about programs trying to access my registry. This seems like the sort of thing viruses try and do, so I requested that Ad-watch block all of them. However, it seems that Ad-watch has now run rampant throughout my system, and now almost nothing works. Executables don't know what programs they're supposed to be used with, I can't access system restore, regedit or my accounts, and the only real working thing left is Firefox. Oh, and Ad-watch, if I search for it manually. I really, really need to find a way to reverse the severe harm that Ad-watch has wrought upon my PC, and I'm deeply disappointed by the overzealous way in which it's treated my most basic files.

Please note the configuration of Ad-Watch below, recommended by LS Calamity Jane on the second page (including ensuring that Ad-Watch is set to
Active and not
Automatic
NB:To access these Ad-Watch settings, click "Tools" (bottom-right) then "Options".
