I used the Fixwareout.exe, i don't believe that was the problem for me. Mine started on 4-4-2007. or in swedish, 2007-04-04 from my genealogy of ancestors. I had the original Ad-Aware SE and had updated it, and at that point, clicked on the desktop icon to select open with a right click and icon disappeared. Sometimes it flashed so I uninstalled it all fromAdd/Remove, Search on my WinXP HE & in the registry (regedit) & removed lavasoft, Ad-Aware. Installed from www.filehippo.com the newer version and it still froze, removed all and downloaded from http://forums.cnet.com from the Virus and Security forum, Ad-Aware SE from www.lavasoftusa.com, uninstalled that and reinstalled from www.lavasoft.com, again it froze on both a short scans and deep scans. After 7 failures and one success, I removed it all again and just installed AVG Antispyware. No problem with CA Antispyware or Spybot S&D and same for RogueRemover. Ialso have ie-spyads_zo in the Internet Explorer, Security Tab, restricted sites and that is Internet Explorer SpyAds Zoned Out. This is the link to that. Only one other page is having problem from Computer Associates Antispyware were all the recent items are missing.
