ADWARE called Trojan.Startpage has infected a file or files that my Internet Explorer uses. I have been unable to locate a fix or patch to get rid of it. It activates itself every 24 hours at approximately the same time, is detected by my Symantec antivirus program (when it activates it creates a file called DE.DLL), and is deleted leaving no trace of the DE.DLL file or any indication which file(s) are affected. I checked with Norton, Symantec, McAfee, etc., to see if there was a fix or patch to correct this and apparently there is none. I learned that this programs is classed as ADWARE rather than a Virus by checking the definition of Trojan.Startpage at the various antivirus program sites. If it IS ADWARE or ... ? I have no idea how it entered my program as I run Ad-Aware and AVG antivirus programs at least twice a day and my Symantec antivirus program once each week and all upgrades have been downloaded and installed so these programs are all current. Can anyone provide an easy fix or patch (I am not all that computer literate) that will eliminate the problem and restore whatever Internet Explorer files have been infected? Thank you for your help.
