Recently I upgraded my PC to a 64-bit version, using an ASUSTeK Computer INC. A8R-MVP Rev 1.xx, a 2.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 with 2 Gb DDR RAM. The O/S I'm using is Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 and all updates. In addition to Lavasoft's Ad-aware SE Plus v1.06r1, I'm running Spybot S & D, SpywareBlaster, Trend Micro's Internet Security and AVG Anti-Spyware v7.5, all are up-to-date with regards to virus and spyware/malware detection patterns.

Sometimes I get the PC crashing and restarting, usually this a problem with heat, but then I started to get the system having "Crash To Desktop" instead, in either case, I lost whatever work I was involved in at the time. As I did not think heat was a problem, I looked in the Event Viewer, and below I have reproduced the actual problem:

"Faulting application ad-watch.exe, version 3.1.2.17, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.1.2600.2945, fault address 0x00012a5b." There could be two possibilities here, one is that Adwatch itself could possibly need an upgrade patch, the other that it is conflicting with Kernel32.dll.

Since this problem only seems to have arisen recently, I don't think that a conflict is the reason, and as the problems with crashes began PRIOR to the upgrade, I also doubt that it is a problem with the 64-bit system, this makes me wonder, does Adwatch need an upgrade patch, and if so, how could I go about getting one?

Please give a lot more detail about this 64-bit upgrade. How were things before, what was upgraded and how.

Prior to upgrade to the 64-bit system, I was running a 32-bit Gigabyt board, using the same 2Gb DDR RAM, the board was the Gigabyte GA-7VA using a KT400A chipset. The O/S was the same however, a 32-bit XP Home updated to SP2 as I have already said.

By the way the chipset on this 64-bit board is the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Crossfire, the graphics card is the Sapphire Radeon XL 600 series with 256Mb GDDR RAM, and the sound card is an Audigy 2 ZS.

Is their anything else going wrong with the system? Windows doesn't usualy take very well to complete hardware changes without reinstalling.
