A - It is known adware, though I can't give it a name.

B - Please can you post an Ad-Aware log file? Make sure you are using build 1.06, and the latest definition file (run WebUpdate before scanning). We'll take a look at it, and we'll get it sorted out.

I just didnt want to start another thread when you've already got someone else with the same problem.

It is always adviserble to start a new topic of your own as posting in another users topic can lead to confustion.
(more so for the elderly around here )

Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600)
MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106)

I recommend that you first go to Microsoft and get all critical updates aIE: SP2
then repost a new HijackThis log file.

Service Pack 2 is not a critical update. I do not want Service Pack 2, so I continue to use Service Pack 1. Critical and security updates are released for Service Pack 1, so it is in no more danger of being vunerable than Service Pack 2 in that respect.
