Full Version: Ad-Aware SE Plus splash screen

I have a paid edition of Ad-Aware SE Plus build 1.06r1. While the problem is no more than an annoyance I would like to fix it.

When I start Ad-Aware the splash screen pops up and displays text saying "Loading Definitions" and later "Looking for updated Definitions". However, the text is not positioned in the light colored central band but instead it overlays the bottom section of the splash screen where the LAVASOFT logo appears.

I also have SE Personal build 1.06r1 on another computer and the splash screen at startup on this version is normal with text in the correct location.

Can someone explain if they have noticed this problem with SE Plus and if so is there a solution?

I realise I can simply disable the splash screen on startup but being a stickler for software performing as intended, I would prefer to fix it properly.

Likely a minor display glitch, the new ad-aware 2007 is coming out reasonalby soon, I doubt the bug in ad-aware will exist in that version.

Do you mean that the problem might be with the computer video display or OS (WinXpSP2), or that Ad-Aware SE Plus might be at fault?

Note that the problem is not evident with Ad-Aware SE Personal, only with SE Plus.

I will upgrade my other computer (which currently uses SE Personal) to SE Plus and see if the problem is hardware oriented.

Chances are it is a bug with plus, considering that personal can't update automatically.

The problem has nothing to do with automatic updating itself. The same thing occurs when updating manually on SE Plus. It is simply a formatting problem when displaying the "loading or updating definitions" text on the splash screen - it is in the wrong location.

Yea, nothing to do with the automatic update process itself, just that the text is different between personal and plus, introducing a bug.
