Full Version: Quarantined files, safe to delete?

I was just wondering if deleting my quarantined files would harm any of my programs. Also, I wasn't sure if it was the same problem, that's stickied, so forgive me if it is, but when I'm scanning sometimes there will simply be no more scanned files, it will stop. It isn't finished and it wont continue.

on another note...I believe in an earlier version, once it had gotten at least one identified file, you could hit stop, or cancel and remove that one file, even if it hadn't completed a scan, now with the newer updates you have to wait for the scan to complete if you want to delete the files. Is there a way to get that option back?

It is generally considered safe to delete quarantined files if you have experienced no problems after 2 - 3 weeks. Quarantine is simply a safe measure to be sure that something deleted dosen't cause a problem with windows or with your other programs running correctly.

Not sure about your other question. During a scan with Ad-Aware you can hit the *cancel* button and it will stop the scan. You can then review the logfile to see if there are any critical items found you would like to delete
