Hi,

I'm a newbie here, so hope I'm not inconveniencing anybody, but didn't know what else to do, and couldn't seem to find an answer in the forums. My problem is: Since Lavasoft apparently "redesigned" their web site, I haven't been able to obtain info or TAC pages on critical objects after completing a scan, so I have no idea what I'm looking at, or what threat level these objects possess. Is there any way of obtaining info on critical objects? Thanks for your time.

Hi bigbeardedbuddy,

When you have completed your scan, should it identify any critical objects, high-light each "target-family" in the results list - the right-hand pane will give you a brief description and a threat level (TAI) on a scale of 1 - 10.

You can see the criteria used to determine this threat level at the Lavasoft website under the "Security Center" section's Threat Analysis Index (TAI) It includes details of TAI Categories and Tai Analysis Criteria.

Should you wish to find out more about a particular type of malware/spyware, enter it's name into the search-box at the top of the main forum page:

That will give you a list of previous Topics mentioning that particular object, and may well give you the info that you require. (NB: The higher-up the results list a Topic is, the more closely it will match your search terms).

Other options are to search the web (the simplest way) or else (should it have a relatively high TAI), post a Topic in the appropriate forum sub-section, asking if it is harmful and requires cleaning/removal.

Regards,

Spike

Thanks Spike, much appreciated. I'll keep it all in mind for next time.
