I'm just wondering if Ad-Aware SE Personal can run on Windows Vista no problem?

Thanks,

Same I do! ... I generally wonder why companies providing great, popular software are not able to put a hint onto their WEB sites, if their software is VISTA compatible or not. ... Looks like they are shaming, that they where not able to develop a VISTA compatible version within the last 12-18 month, VISTA is available as Beta releases ...

I wonder this question too and it seems be negative with all the fonctions. So why can't we have a clear answer or simply an answer ?

Hello all

Ad-Aware SE is not officially supported on the Vista platform, however many customers run Ad-Aware with positive results, we have also done some testing on this with good results.

Since the upcoming release of Ad-Aware 2007 I can not give you a definite answer on the Vista question for Ad-Aware SE since this version will be replaced and made obsolete once the new version is released.

I just purchased a new computer with the Vista Operating System and all was fine with my Ad-Aware SE Personal installation until it detected a critical item in the registry which I tried to delete and it would not do so.... the program just hangs and does not clear out the item. I tried it several times with the same result! It will however, remove the negligible items. So I would say it is safe to assume that it is not totally compatible! Need a fix and soon!

Same here I am now running Vista business and although ad-Aware will run it crashes at the point when you ask it to delete the items found, Although if you remove the program re instal it Ad-Aware will work until you restart your PC then it dies so something effects it at Windows startup in Vista

Ad-Aware SE Personal appears to be working fine on Vista Home Premium 32-Bit for me. I haven't encountered any problems with it, so far, and I've been running Vista since it came out January 30, 2007.

I had similar with other programs when it comes to edit registry or system settings.
Right click the App and select "Run as Administrator", now it should run fine.

SE runs easily on Vista (Home Premium/32-bit), or has for me since January, anyway. It's done well in removing both critical and neglible objects.
