You recently helped me out of a virus jam, much appreciated. Not sure if you can tackle this one but I wanted to give it a shot.
My wife has Mcafee on her computer. Last night it told her "your network is not secure, add this wirless network product to secure you network.) is supposidly further ecryptred all of you data transfers. I should not that the wirless network did have a network key and was secured at that level. Once she installed it none of the other computers in the house could connect to the network, plus it had renamed the network with an _SAFEABA after the original name. Upon investigation we found the Mcafee's said she had to add anyother computer wishing to connect to the network to a "approved" list and that this also required a peice of software which could be gotten of her computer. Since I have a home office with other people who use the network this was not an option.
The following steps were taken all with no results:
Unistalled the Mcafee wireless feature
Unistalled Mcfee completly using their tool
Unistalled/reinstalled Belkin wireless router
Spoke with tech support at Mcafee, Toshiba (the puter with Mcafee) Belkin tech support is off til Tuesday(MLKing Day)
I am able to connet on this computer via LAN through the belkin not via wireless with any computer including now the Toshiba with Mcafee since it unistalled the software.
Have you ever seen this and can you help!
