Lady D
Hi Everyone.

I'm new to the site. I have an issue with my Pop-up Blocking. I have a Super AdBlocker installed. I am trying to update my McAfee Virus Protector and I am getting the message that I have to disable the Ad Blocker. This is what I did to disable it. (Which I thought would work)

Tools
Click on Pop-up Blocker drop down
Click on Turn-off Pop up Blocker
I have then re-stared my computer, but it is still not working.

The next thing I tried was clicked on
Tools
Internet Options
Security
Custom Level
clicked on Disabled Pop Up Blocker
Apply
I have then re-stared my computer, but it is still not working

I think my Virus has not been scanning or updating because I need to go in and update the product
Control Panel
Security Center
Virus Protector out of date

Can someone let me know if this is correct. I have also check in my Windows Task Manager and have found that I have 2 IEXPLORER'S with 13,296K Memory Usage and 4,260K Memory Usage. Does this have anything to do with my computer running slow. Also the SAdBlockexe is using 69,400K of memory running.

Please help

Thanks

This is the Support Forum for Lavasoft's Ad-Aware SE program ( I am not familiar with Super AdBlocker)

If you go to www.superadblocker.com and check down the left-hand side, there are these links which will perhaps be better suited for getting assistance for your problem:

There have been several issues in the past few months with McAfee requiring the removal of legitimate programs (including for a while, Ad-Aware SE).

Please see my posts here (for the period when McAfee interfered with Ad-Aware, until they were forced to release a patch): McAfee VirusScan Plus Conflict
and here: Help me remove ad-aware se personal (temporarily), need removal tool

As you can see, it is not a quick-fix situation (NB: The "regedit" instructions referred to are only for removing Ad-Aware SE - not any other program !!)

I think that after contacting Super AdBlocker, try following winchester73's advice:

I'd suggest you post a thread at McAfee (or search their forum) to see if anyone over there has any ideas: http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/index.php

Best of luck in sorting out your problems - as you can see, when a major program starts interfereing with your other legitimate programs, it can be quite difficult to sort it out. Hopefully, someone at Super AdBlocker or a Topic in the McAfee Forum will be able to help you. smile.gif
