After all the research and talking to people who have had the same problem, we have all managed to fix the file association problem with ad-watch blocking .EXE & .LNK by placing new REG values in the registry etc etc.
After restoring the file associations, other effects have been planted too, i only have one icon in my system tray (ironically Ad-Watch) and there is no volume control anymore or virus scanner icon anymore etc and when i first bootup my PC, a wierd message box pops up in which you have to press the OK button to continue but the dialog box is full of gibberish and can therefore not read it. I can cope with having to press the OK button every time my pc boots up but would prefer to try and fix it. Does anyone know a way to fix it or are experiencing this too? Much help would be appriciated....
