Hello,

I have an Adware program called Family ###### Dialer on my computer that can't be foud by multiple programs to get rid of. I have Norton Anitvirus and Spysweeper on my computer and have had them for aobut 1.5 yrs now. I use this laptop for business and I am on a network at the office. I am running XP Home. The Dialer only tries to install itself when I try to download and update a program I use for work. Spysweeper recognizes the program when it tries to install itself and it askes me if I want to allow it or not. I do not allow the program and Spysweeper quarantines the file. I delete the file and try again and this happens all over again. I called CS for the program that I am trying to update and they say it is not a problem on their end, it has someting to do with my computer. The tech there told me to download Ad-Aware and Spybot and these should find the problem and get rid of it. I downloaded both of these programs and they have not found this Dialer to get rid of it. Ad-Aware found 2 Coulomb dialers and some other things that I quarantined that the others did not find. I have run multiple scans with updated versions and definitions for 6 or 7 programs and they have all found nothing. I have run these scans in normal operating mode and safe mode. They still have not found nothing. I really need this program to update for my business. I need all the help I can get.

Thank You,
Drew

If the file/program isn't private, you could upload it to virustotal.com and have it checked by multiple virus scanners. Post the results here if you decide to try it.

The file contains to much private information to download anywhere. Not to mention the size of the program, 2.3 GB or so. I am not sure this is the infected file either, I have run seperate scans on the file itself. The Dialer may just recognize the open port when I am downloading new info. and then try do install itself from what I understand. Thanks for the information though.

The item that was detected is 2.3 GB, or your database is 2.3 GB? Is the 2.3 GB file a program (.exe) or something else?
