Three days ago I had some pc trouble in which adaware se personal disappeared from my pc.

I have xp home sp2 with current windows updates, avg free, spybot, and ad-aware se personal.

I have since reinstalled ad-aware se personal, spybot s&d, ran bitdefender scan, as well as housecall, and a-squared ----- nothing much came up and things seem to be fine now.

By the way, what prompted me to run the scans was when I tried to run spybot version 1.3 I got the following error message:
"Listenindex uberschreitet das maximum (17)"

So, I'm curious as to how ad-Aware got uninstalled from my pc. Any thoughts on this.

Thanks.

Hello Trapper

During your system troubles did you perhaps use the system restore feature in windows? If so this could be the reason for this to happen since you roll back your system settings to an earlier point.

That's an outdated obsolete version of Spybot. You need to uninstall that and get the latest version 1.4

Since that old version of Spybot is what prompted you to start scanning, I'm wondering if maybe you had it delete something it should not have in the newer version.

Could you also check what version of Ad-Aware you have? Open the main screen and look in the bottom right corner. What does it have listed there?

Yes did system restore once but must admit that I've lost track now.

Thanks for reply.
