Hi,

I have been having a problem with checking for updates and deleting any problems that have been found, it was working OK until a few days a go but when i now click on "check for updates now" and click "connect" i get the message "Error connecting to sever. Please retry updating at another time" and if i do a scan and try and delete what is found it tries to delete but then freezes.

I have tried deleting my copy of Ad-Adware and downloaded a new copy but the problems still persist, can anyone help me please.

Thank you

Hi Daniel,

I have tried everything you said in your reply but still no joy sad.gif i was able to manually download
and install the latest update and do a scan but when i try to delete what has been found it starts
"quarantining selection" and the bar comes across and then stops without deleting anything.

I am using Windows ZP Pro and my anti virus software is up to date, i thought deleting my copy of
ad-aware and downloading a new copy would have put things right but it didn't.

I would appreciate any more help you can give me Daniel.

Thank you

Hello, Sandra

We released a new definitions file yesterday SE1R138 11.12.2006, was this the definitions file you used for your scan? If not update and perform a full system scan with Ad-Aware.

If you still can not remove the objects, if possible I would like you to please send us a sample of the items (files) you found in your scan to research@lavasoft.com and we will look at the files and try to address them.

Hi Sandra

I have been having the same problem for months. I've deleted and reinstalled Adaware personal SE as late as Dec 13, 2006. I've taken Steve's advice and downloaded the file definition list direct from Lavasoft's website.
When I run Adaware it finds 27 critical objects, but when I hit next it goes to the quarantine bar and freezes. This is the persistant problem which appears, and has appeared for months, and follows the inability to download the latest definitions.

I followed Steve's advice and went into the windows/system32/drivers/etc/ host looking for the download... thingy, but it wasn't there.

Frustrated. Any help is welcome. You can answer privately to pricecoma@gmail.com

Thanks
