I checked for def file updates earlier today and it said that there was an update which was SE1R137 06.12.2006 so I downloaded it.

I tried a couple of hours later for updates and the same message appeared.

Is this correct as the size of both old.def and def files in the programme folder are slightly different.

old is 876kb, and the newer one is 870kb

Is this to do with the fact that often the signature is not detected properly on occasions?

No, it occasionally happens, especially if the Def File has been re-released to correct any "false-positives".

I always just re-download - after that, it doesn't reappear.
