Zhong Qiyao
Chinese (Traditional characters) Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2.
Lavasoft AdAware SE Personal, version SE1R131 1.6r1 (latest version available).

1. My last update was 09d-11m-2006y.

2. The latest update on the net is 27d-11m-2006y.

3. Under "Configurations -> General", my "considered out-of-date" day is 14 days.

3. However, I open Ad-Aware yesterday (30d-11m-2006y) and today (01d-12m-2006y),
it does not ask me for update.

4. Changing it to 7 days, 1 day, or even 0 day and re-starting AdAware
does not work.

5. If I do not receive a solution "soon", I may try uninstalling and
re-installing AdAware.

Thanks. Why you reply, could you

Have you tried pressing the button called
'Check for updates...'
Zhong Qiyao
It is the "earth" picture button called
"Integrated Web Update Tool", and now
it is doing the update.

But I don't know why it does not automatically
ask for update.

I also tried deleting the "def" file but it just complaint that
there is no def file.

Thanks.

Hi Zhong Qiyao,

Automatic updates are not available in the (free) Personal version.

For users with the (paid-for) Plus and Professional versions, there is the option for Ad-Aware to checkfor up-dates when the program starts:

You will find that most of these Start-up options are "greyed-out" (not available) in the Personal version.

However, to be alerted to new Def Files, you can subscribe to this section of the forum: Definition Updates

Click on "Forum Options" in the upper-right corner, select "Subscribe to this forum" and choose the email notification method that suits you best. That way, you will receive an email when a new Definition File is released.

Regards,

Spike
