QUOTE(MisterBill @ Nov 28 2006, 08:48 AM)

When I run the following batch from the command line the program updates properly before scanning.
("C:\Program Files\Utilities\Ad-Aware SE Plus\Ad-Aware.exe" /smart +auto +silent +update +log:"C:\Program Files\Utilities\Ad-Aware SE Plus\logs")
But when run from scheduler as a system account the following event fails to update before scanning.
(at 21:04 /interactive /every:m "C:\Program Files\Utilities\Ad-Aware SE Plus\Ad-Aware.exe" /smart +auto +silent +update +log:"C:\Program Files\Utilities\Ad-Aware SE Plus\logs")
Permissions on "C:\Program Files\Utilities\Ad-Aware SE Plus" are everyone full control.
I've spent hours on this, am I missing something, or is this a genuine bug?
Thanks,
Regards,

Hi
I am not 100% sure of what is not updating, do you mean that the defintions file is not being updated before the scan is run or is that the AT command is not updating to be rerun on the next Monday?
I just run some quick tests and using AT xx:yy /interactive "c:\program files\lavasoft\ad-aware se plus\a
d-aware.exe" /smart +update ran fine and downloaded a new defs file before scanning.
Some thoughts
1) Do you have an Internet connection at the time the Ad-Aware command is scheduled to run? I.e. is it an always on type connection?
2) If there are no new updates then the defs file will not be re-downloaded. What errors are you seeing that looks like the defs file is not being updated?
3) Do you have the authenticity plug-in installed? If so is this the latest version?
4) Try renaming the defs.ref file in the Ad-Aware folder to something else e.g. defs.ref.test and re-run your at command. When no defintions file is present it should force a download: does this work?
Also do you want the Ad-Aware window visible on screen when it runs?
Please post back how you get on
