I'm working with a friend's computer where I have installed SE Personal, I get an "Error retrieving update" message when trying to connect. I checked the host's file and that is not the problem. Going to:
http://updates.ls-servers.com/public/defs.zip
gets me to the Lavasoft home page. Can I download the current defs to another computer, write them to disk or flash drive and install them. What will be the correct file name and where should they be copied to?

Thanks

Hi Rich Meagher,

Please see my post in this (similar) thread: Lava software problem!, Trouble updating definitions 16 days old counting

Entering the link http://download.lavasoft.com/public/defs.zip into your browser immediately starts the .zip file download, so yes, have somewhere to download the defs.zip to. It can then be copied to the affected system and the extraction process carried out from there.

Let us know how you get on,

Regards,

Spike
