Hi! I have had AdAware SE personal v 1.06 for over a year now and it worked great! Recently, halfway through the scan, it quits scanning and "sticks" on one file. I tried the scan over and over, but it gets stuck on the same file again and again. I deleted the whole Ad Aware program from my computer and downloaded it again, but the same problem persists. The file it gets stuck on everytime is C:\System Volume Information\_restore{68DCC03E-2073-4915-A5DC-A445A5.... and the rest is cut off the screen. I have tried scanning in safe mode and the same thing happens. The worst part is, there are"infected" files found in the scan that I don't get a chance to delete because I have to abort the scan because it freezes up. Any suggestions?? Thanks~ Lanaki unsure.gif

Sorry about you having to wait.

I would suggest you empty out your System Restore, reboot and then restart your System Restore.

This would remove all the files inside System Volume Information. However, it would also remove
your saved times, if there are any.

Personally; I have tried to used it on two of my systems and everytime it said it was unable to restore.
I stopped using it altogether.... but that is me.

Anyways, if you would like to do this: (this is from Support@Microsoft.com)

Manual steps to turn on or turn off System Restore

3. Click to select the Turn off System Restore check box
(or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.

4. Click Yes when you receive the prompt to the turn off System Restore.

After you do this you might want to try running Ad-aware again.

Thanks for being patient
