A message is displayed reporting that my definitions file is corrupted. What is the easiest way to fix this?
Is it easier to uninstall Adaware and reinstall or is there a simpler way?
Manually download the latest definitions file
here, unzip it, and put the defs.ref file in your Ad-Aware program folder.
The server where the file is seems to be very slow responding at the time of writing this post, but it will hopefully be back to normal before long.

This Lava Soft server that the defs.zip file is not responding ( Timing out ). Is there an alternative location of where I can get this new def file? Can anyone email it to me? etc.
There is clearly a problem with downloading the file, which is why there are currently so many people unable to update. There is nothing anyone can do until a member of the Lavasoft team fix it. Therefore, everyone needs to be patient, and not get too worried about it.

That's a relief to hear. My only concern was that there could be a problem on my end but now that I know that it's not just me I'll just wait it out. Thanks for the info.

d33d0gg,
I recommend that you keep trying the
WebUpDate to get Latest Definition File
(

as the server has been as is very busy
but you can
always download it
manuallybut if you still can not get it then PM me and I will send you the defs.ref (

Thanks, I was having the same problem. Just glad to know it was not an issue with my computer.
I will wait patiently until the problem is fixed. I love AdAware and wouldn't want anything to happen to it.
Thanks again,
Darlene

I've been fiddling with the same issue for most of the afternoon. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh AdAware version. I've also used CCleaner per the suggestion.
As others are reporting, I still cannot get a definitions update to download.
I get the message that the server for
http://updates.ls-servers.com/public/defs.zip can't be found. Seems like a site issue.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the info - I'm having the same definitions update problem and thought it was my machine - I'll wait also.
