I'm using ad aware se pro 6.181, and, lately when I've tried to update it, the perectage downloaded is less than 100%, though it says it has been successfully completed. I'm confused; has the new files been completely downloaded and installed, even though it shows less than 100% on the status bar?

If it hasn't does anyone have an idea why? And, if it has, why does the status bar show less than 100%?

Hi agent222, That is an out-of-date version - the current version is Ad-Aware Se Build 1.06r1 That may be part of your problem, though I can't say for sure.

The present scanning engine is much more effective than that which you are using - I would advise you to update asap. (We are to get the even better Ad-Aware 2007 in the next few months).

Log in to the Support Center, using the email address and password from when you registered your AAW Pro. There you can retrieve your license info, renewal date and whether you are entitled to download any updated products. Depending on exactly when you bought Ad-Aware, you may have to pay a small annual renewal charge - details of that would be in your private section of the Customer Center.

Should you wish to contiue using your older version, try a manual update

Update the definition file by downloading the zipped definition from http://updates.ls-servers.com/public/defs.zip

Unzip this file and you will get a "defs.ref" file. This file should be copied to "c:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware Pro\"
Now load Ad-Aware. If the definition file is still showing your old one, then click on the settings icon (the cog wheel), then click "General". At the bottom right, there is a box saying "Using Definition File". Click the "Open file" icon next to that box and then browse to the definition file in "c:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware Pro\"

Select it and press open. You should now have the latest version, SE1R128 18.10.2006
