When I deep scan the registry, ad-aware SE personal hangs up right away! Why?
Itīs been like this for some months now and the computer is healthy apart from this problem...
I have to press ctrl+alt+del to stop it cause it uses 100% of my cpu. The problem seems to appear when the scanning gets to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE....." folder.
I would appreciate any ideas cause I would like to know if theres a problem in my registry!
(This problem also seems to be quite common when I search the web on this issue.)

Any suggestions? I would be very thankful for any help...

Hi johan_b,

If you look back through the forum, you will find some similar posts - try my suggestions in this Topic: conditional scans? pc gets stuck on those

If you find one that works, post back and let us know which one - it may help someone else in your situation. smile.gif

If not, again, let us know and we will try a different approach.

Hi again, I've now tried those things and nothing worked...
It even stalls if its the first thing I do in SAFE mode...I havenīt tried to reinstall Ad-aware cause that doesnīt seem like the logical solution....what to do? Maybe I should just cope with it since nothing is "wrong" with the computer. It's just a shame that I can't perform a full scan with ad-aware anymore sad.gif

Any more suggestions?????

TA-DAA!!!!!
I have the solution and found the problem!!!
I searched this forum and found a link to this "fix" program!
It seems to be some bad entries in the registry that needs to be deleted in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\*******

And this program fixed it!!!!!!!!! Fantastic, now Ad-aware runs without a problem...

Try one of these links:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/Fixwareout.exe

U have to reboot and wait for 5 min but it's worth it!
