Hi

I appear to be having similar problems to most people, that is, i get 'error retrieving update'.

I thought the problem was at my end so i reinstalled Adaware SE, however the problem persists.

Now the greater problem is i have got definition files over 2 years old.

I cant seem to manually download the latest files from the website. Does anyone have a link, or somewhere i can downlaod some recent defintion files?

I HAVE AD-AWARE SE PLUS V1.05 AND DON'T SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT OTHER USERS HAVE WITH V1.06. WITH LACK OF SUPPORT, DIFFICULT TO UPDATE, NO YEARLYUPGRADE, AND A WEBSITE THAT IS DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE, WOULD I "BUY" FROM THEM AGAIN?

SINCE LAVASOFT UPGRADED THEIR WEBSITE, IM UNABLE TO FIND THE SITE FOR THE AD-WATCH SITE UPDATE. IF ANYONE COULD HELP WITH THAT, IT WOULD BE GREAT.

I am new to this too... I tried the site you posted but it won't let me download the update for the defs. I did however find some for Ad-Aware Se at

Attached is "Def.zip" file for Ad-Aware SE Plus definition. Update of Oct.6, 2006: SE1R125 06.10.2006 .

When I have trouble downloading or surfing to certain websites its because I have my firewall optioned for high security or in stealth mode. I would have to re-option the privacy settings in the firewall and in the Internet Options. Try enabling the cookie for www.Lavasoft.com in "Internet Options" (Privacy sites & settings) and popup blocker settings, as well as in your firewall, if you use one. Hope it helps.

I can email the sites.txt file if you would like - it is in zip format and is dated 4-5-2006 (the most recent blacklist file).

You would need to PM me an email address, as your profile says "email : private" - the file is only 25KB.
