Full Version: No Update possible - Unknown User despite Registration

sad.gif The Problem seems to hit a lot of users.
I bought my Ad-Aware SE Professional CD at AMAZON last week, advertized as newest version.
What I got was version 1.05 and I tried to upgrade it.
Upon Installation I filled out my registration-form but never found a password.
Now when I try to enter support-page, I fill in my E-Mail-address and klick on "password forgotten" because I never got one.
The reply is always "Unknown User".
I tried to register meanwhile at least 5 times with the same entries, NO CHANGE.

WHAT CAN I DO?

Please help me. I didn`t know that I better should have bought it via element5.

Hi rainer340,

As you say there are a few posts on the subject - it is being worked on.

Keep an eye on the Board, as I will post as soon as I can get a work-around for you. Watch the thread mentioned in the link above.

sad.gif Sorry Mimsey, that doesn`t help me at all !!!!

I tried again to register, and when I insert my CD, the same Web-Page appeared as before.
I typed in my personel data (I guess I did it now for at least 6 or 7 times) and there was no reply.
I installed the programm and version 1.05 worked.

BUT NOW I WANT TO UPGRADE TO VERSION 1.06r.

The Upgrade-Page wants an Username AND Password !!!!!!!!!!

BUT I HAVE NO PASSWORD, BECAUSE I BOUGHT THE PROGRAMM NOT AT ELEMENTS5.

When I enter my (7 times registered) e-mail address and click on "forgot password"
the answer is always "ERROR: PERSON NOT FOUND"

So I can not access the Upgrade-Page.

Why not ??????? I payed for the program (AMAZON advertized the NEW VERSION) but I don`t get it.

I hope I could clarify my problem now.

ohmy.gif Hi Spike, finally I managed registering. Thanks to Your help.

BUT: I`m registered now for Version Ad-Aware SE PLUS.
As I stated in my first post I bought Ad-Aware SE PROFESSIONAL.

So I still can not upgrade to version 1.06.

What shall I do now ???

Glad to hear that you are now registered, even if for the wrong product (how on earth did that happen ?? huh.gif )

Not something that can be addressed through the forum - you will need to log-in to the Support Center and get them to fix it up for you. It might help to send details/picture of your SE Pro CD...

Hello again spike,

first of all thanks for Your help so far.

I tried already to contact sales support via the support center.
Every time I fill out the contact form with all the required information I get a message:
Error: Fill out all fields marked by * .
But I filled them all !!!

Looks that WEB-Page doesn`t work as well.

And I have no other possibility to contact them.

Disregard my last post spike.
I just received an e-mail that they received my support-request (despite the error-message).
Will see what happens now.
