I'm having the exact same problem.
Using Ad-aware SE Pro 1.06r1.

Sometimes it even screws up my startup, keeping the Windows XP statup-menu, toolbar, and desktop items from loading.

More frequently (almost all the time), it keeps me from shuting down using Windows XP "Turn Off Computer" button. Instead I have to open up the task-manager, end the Ad-Watch process, then go to Shut-down->Turn-Off on Task Manager.

What is the problem? I know its not my system, I haven't loaded anything on this computer in about a year. I use it just to surf the net and write emails. (My job requires more paper work than computer work).

Theres gotta be other with this problem, and there has to be some sort patch or something?

Please help!

Hi, this is posted in our FAQ
http://www.lavasoft.com/support/faqs.php

Q: Ad-Watch does not allow me to log out of Windows. If I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and terminate Ad-Watch, my computer shuts down.

A: Try the following solutions:

* Re-install Ad-Aware SE.
* Update your operating system with the latest security updates.
* If you are a system administrator, make sure your users have administrative rights on their accounts.
* If you had recent problems with viruses or spyware, scan your computer and make sure it is clean.
* If none of the above steps resolves the problem, please contact the Support Center.

BELOW WAS POSTED IN FAQS IN DECEMBER 2006:

"Ad-Watch does not allow me to log out of Windows. If I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and terminate Ad-Watch, my computer shuts down.

The problem is being addressed by our developers and will be corrected as soon as possible in an Ad-Aware SE update."

Has there been a update to this as we are still having the issue with professional SE and re-installing and windows updates does not resolve the issue?
