I am wondering if anyone knows of why suddenly my home page which is set for www.google.com now opens and immediately switches to www.google.fr. If anyone brings a laptop and accesses the internet on my network the same thing happens to them, yet once they go home and hook up the laptop and access there internet all is fine and opens to www.google.com.

All virus scans and AdAware scans show no infections or spyware.

What could be causing this?

Google will redirect to local country versions of Google based on your IP address. This geographical mapping is not 100% accurate. Other items that could be causing this are that you are using a proxy server or your ISP is providing you with an address registered for France.

To get to the "real" google.com ensure that google can save cookies and then use www.google.com/ncr as the URL. You should get the US version of google.
