When I start a full system scan Adaware gets about 800 files into the scan and then a popup window says "NT Authority/System Shutdown in 60 seconds"....."DCOM Service Process Launcher unexpectedly terminated".

For Windows XP please follow the instructions in this FAQ:

The above should resolve your specific issue. If you are not running Windows XP please post back which version of Windows you are running.
