Frequently, I will be browsing the Web, and I will receive a pop-up warning from my Norton Anti-Virus software that a Trojan Horse has been detected and the software was unable to delete it.

When I am browsing the Web, I usually run Ad-Aware SE and Spyware Nuker XT. They will usually catch the Trojan Horse, and I later delete it.

My concern, however, is that this Trojan Horse has already done its damage.

For instance, if I am completing on-line banking and Norton Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware SE, or Spyware Nuker XT detects spyware, adware, malware, trojan horse, etc., is the damage already done? Has the culprit been able to detect and collect all of my account numbers?

The most common object Ad-Aware SE detects is a list of recently opened documents using Microsoft Office. If I open an Excel spreadsheet with all of my financial information on it and browse the Web, will the spyware, adware, malware, trojan horse, etc., be able to detect the Excel spreadsheet at that very moment?
