I have gotten several copies adware se plus for myself and my niece. I am running it on both of my current running systems. When I get the third one up and running I will install a new copy on it to.

I am unhappy with the poor upgrade system you have in place. Its as if you don't care about us after we have bought your product. I have had trouble getting upgrades before but this time I don't have the time to screw around trying to find the appropriate page that will allow me to download the correct build.

You have a good product except it is not very user friendly.

Hi John,

Which page are you going to, to upgrade?

The best site to use is www.lavasoftcustomercenter.com - from there login using the information you had when you purchased ad-aware or if you no longer have it try the forgotten password link...

Let me know how you get on using that site and if you get any problems...

Thanks Chris Fry

I agree that the manner in which upgrade distributions are designed is less than satisfactory.

Specifically, it took me forever to straighten out the fact that I had initially purchased Plus, then upgraded to Pro. For the longest time I would only get notified to download the Plus version and could not access the Pro version. To be honest, I am not confident that that whole issue has been resolved to this day. My point is that the thread starter has a very real concern. The manner in which you distribute updates is poor. The manner in which you give people access to re-download their purchases software needs attention. The fact that users cannot update their personal info on the customer service website is frustrating.

I am finding it ipossible to obtain updates to Ad-Aware SE Plus. Every time I use the program I am remineded that I havn't updated for 15 days. When I seek the updates I am informed that there are none available. Furthermore, when trying to contact the Customer Supprt Center at www.customersupportcenter.com all I get is a blank page, so I am unable to seek advice in the normal manner. Please give your "machines" a swift kick and get them back to their previous excellent state of operation.

You guys are obviously having server, product, or other issues. There are several posts now about upgrade, definition and other problems. Are your offices addressing this or not?? We have tried all of the suggestions you all have made including searching for stops and deleting and re-adding the defs file. Also, I cannot get into your system AT ALL to determine if I can get an upgrade for the retail store-bought SE Plus edition and trying to log in using my registration information is not working. (It's apparently not working for MANY of us) Will you please fix this stuff already? What's the issue (s) here??

Hi KatKH,

There is a difference between updating/upgrading the actual program itself and downloading the latest Definition File.

At present, there is a slight delay in the release of the next Definition File - it has happened occassionally over the past 7+ years that I have used this program, but it is not a frequent occurence, nor does it signify any problem with the program itself.

To stop getting the start-up "nag" screen about out-dated Defs, open Ad-Aware, click the Configuration Cog (top right), and on the "General" tab, increase the number of days in the "Definitions" sub-section. Then click "Proceed". Personally, I just ignore the "nag", as I have Ad-Aware set to check for new Defs at boot-up.

Hope that that clarifies the matter for you.

Spike

Hi adaware1,

I have already posted a reply in your thread here: build 1.06, upgrade to new version adaware plus se

For Retail Purchasers (as opposed to on-line, e-sales purchasers), from memory there is an FAQ in the Support Center at the new Website.

Unfortunately, I can not access the information, as it is one of the minor glitches in the new site. I have subscribed to both your and another person's posts, both with retail-related questions.

As soon as I can access the info (yes, I check several times a day), I will post back to both of you with any relevant info - hopefully, my memory is correct cool.gif

I note your comment about the difficulties experienced in getting into the Support Center - this is the correct section of the forum for your views - however, to make it more prominent, for the LS staff to see, try starting a new post with a clear (but polite smile.gif ) Topic Title.

Something for all to remember - if you get a reply from anyone without "LS" before their name, then it is either an un-paid volunteer (like myself) or another Ad-Aware user.

Regards,

Spike

Hi to all posters/readers here,

There is a link in this subsection called: New Lavasoft website design, Post your feedback here

Keep an eye on it for progress reports. Also, should you have a particular question or comment (polite, please smile.gif ) on the new website or where to find a previously available link (see my post on "Skins"), feel free to post there.

A reminder:- please try and keep your Question/Topic in the one place. That way, when we find a solution, we can advise you.

A good way to track threads (topics) is to use the "Options" button at the topright-hand corner, as displayed here:

Select the "Track this Topic" tab and you will be given several choices for receiving email alerts about new posts in the thread (this can be used in any thread, including your own - it's how we keep track of who has answered us where biggrin.gif )

The link for Retail Purchase Registration is now working again.

I have posted details in this thread: New Lavasoft website design, Post your feedback here

Took a little longer than expected for the engineers to fix the link - our apologies for the wait smile.gif
