Hi.I have a problem with the automatic update of ad-ware.Every time I start it it gives me the notice saying my definitions are...days old and when i click for updating it either tells me it can't find any or it gives me an error in retriving.I don't exactly know what to fix,if there is anything to fix..so can anyone tell me what's wrong?I'd really appreciate it. sad.gif

Elfman,
Please can you make sure that it is Ad-aware SE Build 106 that you have.
[if not Uninstall your old Ad-aware first then install SE]
now you can disable that notification by opening d-aware then click on the settings tag (The Gear) and then un-tick the option that says "Prompt to update outdated definitions consider definition outdated after **" then click th proceed button.
But I recommend that first you open the Ad-aware folder on your "C" Drive and rename the defs.ref to say old defs.ref then try downloading the Definition file again.

Well i've looked and theres 2:a normal ref. and an old one(defs.ref.old.).I don't understand...maybe it's some setting and I just have to find it and modify it maybe. So that it would retrieve updates.. sad.gif

Elfman,
There is one thing that springs to mind and that is that as far as I am aware you can not set the Personal (Free) version to automatically update.
but if it is a paid for version then as i said rename or delete the .def file that is in your Ad-aware folder then re-download the latest definition file.
