COMPUSERVE is now blocked by something and I am having
trouble locating the program doing it. Lavasoft-AE

I have used Compuserve for twenty years for e-mail which still works.
But some program is blocking my using the internet part of Compuserve.
It will not even Ping. How can I check your program and make sure
that it is not the one blocking it's use? Is there a way to OK it
by manually also? So far all of the Compuserve advice has not worked
in correcting the problem.

I have two computers. The old slow one works fine.
The cable modem goes through a linksys wireless broadband and is split
going to the two different computers. I have put in an ATI Radeon
graphics board recently. Otherwise the only changes have been updates
of Windows, Symantec Systemworks 2006, System Mechanic, Recovery Mechanic,
Spyware Doctor, Ad-Aware SE Persoal, Spybot search & destroy, and spyblaster.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi,

If you are using the free version of Adaware SE, it doesn't have a block list.

If you are using Ad-Aware SE Plus or Pro, use the *Help* button to access the help section, and look under "Block URL"
QUOTE
This is the "black list" of websites that Ad-Watch blocks. The URLs are stored in the sites.txt file in your Ad-Aware SE directory.

That section explains how to unblock an URL in the list.

CompuServe doesn't appear on the default list, so unless you added it yourself or via a custom block file, it is unlikely that Ad-Aware is blocking it.
