A few days ago, I posted a question on the Ad-Aware SE forum when I couldn't load Ad-Aware and Spybot.
I tried to clean my computer with Kaspersky 6.0 and TrojanHunter but I still couldn't load those two spyware detection programmes.

I also couldn't access some websites with the names Ad-Aware in the links. The browser (Firefox) closes immediately when I click on the links.

I can't install Ewido although I mananged to download it. I can't run Panda Online Scan because it gets stuck after the Active Xs are downloaded.

I have just run Kaspersky's Online Scan but nothing was detected but for unknown reasons, it couldn't access certain files although I have changed the Explore option to Reveal all hidden files and folders. The results of the scan is attached here.

Since yesterday, when I returned to this web site and tried to click on the Ad-Aware forum link where I posted my question, the browser just closes immediately. I have tried 3 times and the same thing happens every time.

Certain malware can block sites like Ad-Aware or Spybot. First try resetting your HOSTS file to the default in case it has been tampered with by malware.

Download the Hoster from here: http://www.funkytoad.com/download/hoster.zip

Press 'Restore Original Hosts' and press 'OK'
Exit Program.
Note: if you were using a custom Hosts file you will need to replace any of those entries yourself
If you don't know what a HOSTS file is, you are probably not using a custom one

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
