Hi....
I just got a $2000 laptop for my husband. It arrived two days ago and I religiously went to lavasoft and got adaware (version 8.1). I have adaware on my other desktop pc. I have vista 64 over there and he has vista ultimate on this computer.
I went to open up adaware about an hour ago and it kept having connection problems. I tried everything from run it as an xp program to going to properties and then security and making *everyone* own the program. I turned off the UAC control because that sucker kept popping up everytime I tried to open adaware and I thought maybe somehow it was interfering in the program connecting.
I cannot even OPEN THE PROGRAM. It sits there trying to load and connect and then this message comes up saying the connection failed and voila...nada. It won't even open.
I finally found this forum and read all FIVE pages of problems dating back to April. Boy do I feel screwed (sorry). Why sell this program to unsuspecting vista owners knowing there's a problem? Geez....
So uhhhhhhh...how do I make this program RUN?? I don't even know how to get an update log. I did do what you guys said about updating from the start...programs area and it updated that way but it won't OPEN. I don't know if it's running in the background. Why isn't adwatch showing up in the menu bar on the bottom of the screen? IS it running in the background or ???? Can I say WTF is going on out of complete frustration? Sorry but #%#$@^!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
