i'm on vista. i uninstalled the anniversary edition but when i restarted the computer i got an alert that my spyware and other malware protection is turned off. and when i clicked to fix, it said that ad-watch is off...but i thought i already uninstalled it.


when i clicked to turn it on, not only did it list windows defender but also ad-watch as an option.


i tried selecting the ad-watch option to see what happens but nothing happened.

so with windows defender running, i clicked to see the antispyware programs i have, and ad-watch is listed.


i tried reinstalling the new free edition then uninstalling it and it's still there. i tried reinstalling that choosing not to install ad-watch, then uninstalling it and it's still there.

i don't know if this is what's making my comp get that alert but why is ad-watch still listed when i shouldn't have it anymore?

Can you give more details of your Vista (service pack, 32 or 64 bit)? Moderator casey_boy has already reported this bug to Lavasoft using both Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium 64bit and Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit.
