I dont really know what I have. Internet explorer keeps on opening to random websites.
I ran lavasoft adaware and as soon as the scan started, it closed.
(idk if this is against the rules) but then i ran malwarebytes and as soon as the scan started, it closed
Then I ran spybot search and destroy, and as soon as the scan started, it closed.

I ran hijack this and as soon as the scan started, it closed again.

a couple antivirus sites i go into gets redirected as soon as i go to them.

I opened up task manager and i had something under processes called a.exe in there. i googled it on laptop and it turned out to be some kind of worm. I manually deleted it and now when i open task manager again i have something called msa.exe which i googled again as another kind of problem. I got rid of that manually. I dont see anything else wrong with my process list

I still cant scan for anything. any help?

I am running windows xp home.

oh i forgot to mention... I cannot run adaware, malware bytes, or hijack this anymore. After 1 run , scan and close, this problem somehow makes these programs unable to run anymore. It corrupts the exe and makes it impossible to run i believe. Adaware says "cannot connect to service" the others say "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropiate permissions to access this file"

yea nothing i do or any program i try to use works.

Hi,

Could you please post the Norton scan log, so that we can know what item it detected and removed which prevented Ad-Aware from running.

Thank you,

Casey
