Ad-aware is slowing down my PC.
Each time I start my PC I get three crash reports from lavasoft saying the following:

"aawservice.exe has experienced an unhandled exception and was forced to close"

While attempting to uninstall ad-aware 2007, I get an error 1313, windows installer cannot read file....

I then clicked "repair file" and was able to complete the uninstall, so I thought, but when I restarted my system again, I'm still getting these crash reports from lavasoft?

What are these crash reports and why can't I get rid of them?

Ad-Aware 2007 is nearing end-of-life, so it's a good time to update to the new version. Possibly that's what went wrong if you had auto-update turned on and 2007 tried to update to 2010 version 8.1 - the auto-update doesn't seem to work well uninstalling old versions.

At this link, you'll find links to Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and Revo Uninstaller. You may need to use one or both to cleanly uninstall Ad-Aware. Then you can download and install the new version from http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

Thank you, I tried your advise but with no success.
I installed Windows Installer Cleanup, but it did not detect Ad-aware on my system? It did however, find a lot of programs installed on my PC that I have no clue what they are or used for? I don't want to start uninstalling the wrong things, I'll have BIGGER problems! So I wouldn't suggest the windows uninstaller program for the "average Joe or Jane" because you really have to know the technical names for each of your programs installed.

I prefer not to upgrade to the newest version of Ad-aware. Like I previously stated, it slows down my PC.
I'm still stuck with the crash reports!!
Still need help?

Try Revo - it works really well.
