Hi. On 1/17/07 I purchased a copy of Ad-Aware SE Pro v1.06 from Digital River (Element 5). Got all of the appropriate emails & invoice (PDF), but no licensing info. (I can provide that info to Lavasoft staff via email.) That was okay because the product ran fine for a year, I set it aside in recent years, then re-installed it a few days ago, realized that malware defs are no longer available for updating and would need to upgrade. So I followed some links and downloaded and installed Ad-Aware 8.1. When I attempted to log in to supportcenter to retrieve my licensing info (as per your FAQ "My Serial Number/Registration Key... is lost, how do I retrieve it?") my email & password are not recognized. All I have are the email I used when original purchase in 2007, and the email sent to me by Digital River. Perhaps the p/w was strictly for the download cycle not for post-install support, I don't know. They are rejected. When I attempted to get system to send me a new password, the form wants an "old" and a "new" email address, but my email address hasn't changed, so that form won't work. Catch-22.
So, I have evidence (invoice) of valid purchase of Ad-Aware SE Pro v1.06, I don't have any license or reg key etc. info. I can't find a gateway into the system for retrieving that info. As a paying customer it does seem a bit, uh, silly that I would have to get registered to get logged into a forum for free-software users just to be able to correspond with a Lavasoft customer service rep, anyway I'm caught in this Catch-22 and would appreciate some customer support assistance: what are my options for upgrading from SE Pro v1.06 to whatever is the appropriate upgrade/sidegrade for the "retired" SE Pro I have -- I guess that would be either Ad-Aware AE or Ad-Aware 2008? And how can I get established (re-established?) as a valid paying customer in the customer support database?
Thanks in advance, Lee
